Inspiring Our People
We have a global work force of approximately 16,600 employees and 22,000 contractors, as of the end of 2012. We invest significantly in these individuals to create a workplace culture that fosters leaders and enables all to succeed in their positions and grow in their careers. We have high expectations for our employees and contractors. We expect them to act with integrity and respect. We expect that they act as responsible stewards of the environment, and as examples of safety in the workplace. We believe that they are Newmont ambassadors to the communities in which they work, and many of them go beyond their duties to volunteer in their local communities. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate all workplace accidents, injuries and illnesses.
