Our Stakeholders
Who Are Our Stakeholders?
In short, our stakeholders are the people and organizations who have the potential to impact — or to be impacted by — our business activities. This includes our employees, local communities, Indigenous peoples, shareholders, partners, contractors, suppliers, trade unions, financial institutions, governments and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).

What Do We Mean By Stakeholder Engagement?
Stakeholder engagement helps us understand the needs and expectations of our stakeholders — whether they are local communities or suppliers. This continuous process helps us understand how our business affects communities and people.

We take this process very seriously. Operations must not only identify their stakeholders, they also register and track their concerns — including by monitoring complaints and grievances, as well as commitments made by Newmont. Sites are required to develop engagement plans for these groups, review them regularly, and make adjustments throughout the life of the project.
